Spokane Summit: Coming Together around Challenging Conversations (Feb 10, 2023)

We are excited to share a recap of the highly successful Summit for the Common Good in Spokane. This impactful event brought together leaders from various sectors, creating a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration on critical issues such as homelessness and political polarization. The Summit proved to be a resounding success, fostering unity and establishing common ground among attendees, all with the shared goal of advancing positive change in our community.

The Summit attracted a diverse group of leaders, including elected officials, business executives, non-profit directors, education leaders, community advocates, and many others. Throughout the day, these individuals engaged in thought-provoking conversations, shared their unique perspectives, and worked together to identify actionable steps for progress.

The Summit featured inspiring pairs of leaders who successfully overcame divides for the benefit of the common good. Among these inspiring pairs were Ben Stuckart and Chris Patterson, who shared their collaboration in tackling the tense issue of homelessness in our community.

In addition to these inspiring pairs, attendees had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions, led by our exceptional Spokane leadership team. These sessions provided a space for open and honest dialogue, allowing participants to delve deeper into specific issues and practice building common ground. It was heartening to witness the active engagement and enthusiastic participation from all attendees.

The summit marked only the beginning of our efforts. During the event, attendees joined working groups focused on critical issues such as behavioral health, homelessness, and childcare, with the aim of sustaining the momentum generated by the Summit and effecting tangible change in our community.

Overall, the Summit for the Common Good was an outstanding success, bringing together leaders from diverse backgrounds and sectors to build relationships, foster understanding, and work towards a common goal.
